There is a story in the Bible where Jesus washes his disciples feet. He is preparing them for his departure and is showing them an example of what he wants them to do as the future leaders of his ministry. In the story it mentions that the devil had already prompted Judas to betray Jesus.
When God has great plans for your life, adversaries will arise to betray you, accuse you, slander you, and do all sorts of evil against you. The devil wants you to fail in your mission that Gad gave to you from your conception. In Jesus case, although the devil prompted Judas to betray Jesus, he ended up fulfilling God’s plan and prophetic word.
Psalm 41:9 (KJV):
“Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.”
Zechariah 11:12-13 (KJV):
“And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.”
In a later scripture it says that Satan entered Judas and he went to fulfill the prophecies above.
You will have adversaries that arise in your life, but it doesn’t mean that God has forgotten about you or denied you the fulfillment of your purpose. Through your perseverance in the trials, the hurts, the betrayals, God’s word will come to fruition. Don’t quit or give up on the mission God gave to you.
It is challenging. Focus on God’s word and stay close to the Holy Spirit. Every time you feel like quitting, reach out to Him and ask Him if this is the cup that you are to drink from. If it isn’t, then Lord take it away. If it is, then God let your will be done.
