I was listening to people debating about whether the gospel, the account of Jesus the Christ is a myth or reality. It’s interesting because people can argue for hours about either side. There are many forums where they pit one religion against another. And we hear what each side has to say. The Bible says not to argue about the word, because it doesn’t lead anywhere except to cause strife.
And yet it is a challenge to not jump into the debate and state the case for Christ.
It’s interesting that people believe in things they cannot see. Things that are fabrications of someone’s imagination. We go to movies and read books and we want to believe in our hero. We don’t stand for hours arguing with someone about whether their hero is real or worthy to be honored. Yet when presented with the gospel, the story of a man who loves the world so much that He would be willing to give up His own life to pay the price for our punishment, people can argue and debate over whether this is the truth. Why not just believe it?
Why is it that just the mention of Jesus’ name seems to offend people? Don’t mention the name or you may be chastised, ridiculed or even physically hurt. Saying merry Christmas is a challenge for people to say during the holidays. People can celebrate anything else without shame or humiliation. Abortions, gay marriages, sex outside of marriage, even Satan can be worshipped. why is that? It’s because the devil and evil forces don’t want you to know or mention the name above all names. It offends them and reminds them that their time is limited. That the judgement for their evil works is coming and it cannot be stopped.
Our battle is not against one another. It isn’t one religion against another. It isn’t about offending someone. It’s about the spiritual realm, the demonic, the fallen ones. They are at war with man. The Dragon wages war against the children of God.
Praying against these forces is your greatest weapon. We get complacent and forget that the enemy is not the man or woman but the evil spirits. Strengthen your prayer life. Strengthen your walk with Christ and the battle can be won.
