I feel that God is saying there are many people who have gone through marriage infidelity and are hurting and suffering because of it. If you are going through this. God wants you to be healed and whole. Jesus came to bind up the broken hearted.

Luke 4:18 (KJV): Jesus reads this passage in the synagogue and applies it to Himself, saying:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

There are seasons in our lives when the unexpected happens and we are hurting especially because of a betrayal or infidelity in marriage. People fall or falter in these, “Why God,” seasons. You can’t understand why, especially when you thought you were doing your best in the relationship. When you are hit by betrayal, infidelity, rejection, that may lead to divorce and deep sadness in your life, hold on to Jesus.

Psalm 55:12-14 (KJV):

“For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.”

In this passage, the psalmist, traditionally understood to be David, expresses the deep sorrow of betrayal by someone close—a trusted friend or companion—making the betrayal all the more painful.

Have you been in this situation and wanted to give up. So many different emotions arise; shame, guilt, fear, self doubt, low self worth, disgust, anguish, anxiety, heartache…and so much more. Sometimes we just want to give up on everything, children, work, life in general. Even through such times, God has plans to take care of you.

Getting out of bed is challenging when something like this happens. You may not know God, but God knows you. He wants you to know that there are good times ahead. Yes, you are going through a storm or trial now, but there is clear weather ahead. It seems insurmountable now. But I can say that there is comfort in God’s love. It’s hard not to worry but take each day and try not to worry about tomorrow. Every day is one step forward, don’t give up. It is hard, and you will have good and bad days. I think marriage infidelity is one of the most emotionally damaging events in a person’s life. It’s not easy going, especially, if you think you don’t have anyone that you can count on. God is there with you. He will never leave you or forsake you.

Joshua 1:5 (NIV) says:

“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

When you are going through the storm, the hurt, the sadness, the anger, and you cannot tell when the storm will subside, it is rather daunting. All you can do is weather it and trust in God in these times. I have gone through years, asking God, when will it be over? All I can say is that it will be over, He will get you through, have faith in God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV):

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

God loves you and knows what you are going through, stay close to God and you will see brighter days ahead.
